Research and Planning: Mise en scene for film magazine

As I am only having one main character I am going to have a female and this is what I am going to use:

  • Dark coloured pants either jeans or leggings  - from home
  • A hoody or coat - from home
  • Fake blood - £1-2 from fancy dress shop
  • backcomb hair to look mess
  • Make - up natural but ran.

Research and Planning: Mise en scene for film poster

For the film poster I plan to use:

  • The woodland area we are filming in.
  • One female character.
  • Scarecrow.
To create the genre this is what I will be dressing the female like:

  • Dark coloured pants either jeans or leggings  - from home
  • A hoody or coat - from home
  • Fake blood - £1-2 from fancy dress shop
  • backcomb hair to look mess
  • Make - up natural but ran.
To make the scarecrow I will dress them like:

  • Tweed jacket - from home
  • Black top - from home
  • Navy water proof pants - from home
  • string - from home
  • Straw - from local farm
  • Black boots - from home.

Research and Planning: Making of the scarecrow

Today was the strike for school so we had the day off to me and Keisha took this as an opportunity to make our scarecrow for our film trailer.

This is the straw we used to stuff the scarecrow.

We used this twining to tie the scarecrow to the pole.

Theses are the boots for the scarecrow.

We used theses pants for the scarecrow and stuffed them with straw and cut them.

We will be putting this on the scarecrows shoulder.

We used bags to also stuff the scarecrow.

This is the scarecrows pants once stuffed.

We used theses gloves for the scarecrows hands. We stuffed theses with straw.

The cat wanted to help stuff the scarecrow at this point.

This is the scarecrows top.

We have used theses planks of wood to make a cross to put the scarecrow on.

To make the cross we used hammer and nails.

This is where we built the scarecrow, not far from the location.

This is the cross we made.

This is the scarecrow fully made.

This is a video of Keisha making the scarecrow.

Research and Planning: Head shots

Ange would be suitable for our news reader in out teaser trailer as she is the right age for the news reader.

Adam would be suitable for our scarecrow as he is tall an is also reliable for filming.

Mike would be suitable for news reader as he is reliable as he is at our college.

Here are some head shots of people that might be in the film trailer.

Research and Planning: Plan for the week

This is what I plan to do this week:

  • As I am off on Fridays coursework lesson I am going to have to do some coursework out of lesson.
  • Audition posters
  • Test shots
  • Example of fonts for my film poster.

This is our film audition poster that we have put up around college and hopefully get people to audition.

Research and Planning: Social network feedback

This is the feedback I got back from facebook from what I want my film magazine to be called, from there I have decided to call my film magazine 'Ultimate Film'.

Research and Planning: Newsreader script

Research and Planning: Meeting 3

Today Keisha and I are talking about the length of our story board.  We have decided to make the news reporter part longer as we have got time to play with.  We have also decided to put flashes of events that happened at the camp fire.  This should make our film trailer longer.

Research and Planning: News reader

As I am the manger for mise-en-scene I need to consider where to have our news reporter.  We need to have a clear screen which can have news projected onto it.  I think a good location to do this would be my media room as it has a big white screen and a projector. The news reporter will be placed in the middle wearing formal clothing to make it look professional and realistic.

Reseach and Planning: Cinematography used with in the film trailer

As Keisha and I are doing cinematography together I have started thinking about different shots that are going to get used.

  • Extreme wide shot: To show the whole campfire.
  • Medium long shot: To show the news reporter. This will be complimented with a pan to follow her walking.
  • Medium shot: To show the news reporter in the studio.
  • Close up: To show campers expressions and how they are hurt
  • Long shot: To show the scarecrow.
  • Eye level: To show the teenagers see each other as equals and when the news reporter is speaking to show they are neutral.
  • High and low shots: This helps show who is the bad guy and who are good.  Also builds up suspension.
  • Hand held camera: Just like in The Blair Witch Project it shows the teenagers have hold of the camera.
  • Static: This shows when it is the scarecrows point of view.

Research and Planning: Location recces

This is where Keisha and I are shooting out film trailer.
