This is my A2 media blog, I hope you enjoy reading through my blog and looking at my final products - Film magazine, Film poster and Teaser trailer.

My research and planning starts 20th June 2011 and finishes 23rd March 2011. My evaluation starts 23rd March 2012 and finishes 18th April 2012.

My completed magazine, poster and teaser trailer is found on the 28th April.

Research and Planning: Genre research

Horror
  • Theses are unsettling films, which makes you feel theses emotions; Fear, disgust and horror.  
  • They normally include a victim/s, a villain and sometimes a twist. 
  • Normally set in the night time, isolated areas.  
  • They use the score to help create tension. 
  • Cinematography that is normally used is: POV, close ups to show emotions, extreme long shot/wide shots to show environment. 
Comedy 
  • These mainly focus on humor, making the audience laugh.
  • Can get all different Types of comedy, such as; Romantic comedy, Action comedy, sifi- comedy.  
  • Plots are normally reflects on real life but with a twist to make it more comedy packed. 
  • Focus more on the dialogue than actual plot. 
  • Normally high key lighting. 
  • Most cinematography is long shots, wide shots, close ups, anything realistic. 



Action 
  • Normally a hero, a villain and most of the time a 'damsel in distress'. 
  • Consists of fighting and chases. 
  • Unrealistic.
  • Normally a lot of fast editing. Jump cuts are mostly used in theses sort of films.
  • Mostly extreme long shots to show environment also close up to see emotions of hero ect.



Fantasy
  • This includes things such as magic, elves, supernatural and magical worlds. 
  • Theses also normally have a hero and villain. 
  • Can also have princes, princesses.
  • Normally high key lighting.
  • Editing is normally slower, graphic cuts. 
  • Cinematography is normally close ups of creatures ect, extreme wide shots to show environment.
