Evaluation: Question 3
What have you learned from your audience feedback?
Throughout the year I conducted several pieces of audience feedback to different people to find out what I needed to do to complete my final products. I used the audience feedback to shape my production to make it how it is now. Here are some examples of what type of audience feedback I have used:
Interviews
As I have never made a teaser trailer, I had to find out what elements you see in a teaser trailer so interviewing my media class individually helped me find out. I asked a series of questions find out what was their favourite genre, what attracts them to a film and codes and conventions found in the teaser trailer. This finally helped me find out what genre I would want to produce.
Questionnaires
I made a questionnaire based on 'horror' and handed it out to my media class and this focus on cinematography, editing, sound and mise-en-scene they expected to see in a horror teaser trailer. I felt this was appropriate as my class was aware what this media language meant. Once collected this data I then evaluated it with Keisha to help us think about our pitch.
Proposals
Now Keisha and I knew what genre we wanted we decided to write a proposal of what our storyline we wanted. We come up with three story plots and to decide which one we used the social networks 'Twitter' and 'Facebook' to reach to a wider audience to find out which plot story was the best. From the feedback we found out that our intended audience would prefer the 'curse of the scarecrow'. I was happy with this result as this was mine and Keisha's favourite plot story.
Name of film magazine
I had five choices of names for my film magazine so again I used 'Twitter' and 'Facebook' to reach a wide mass audience to help pick my film magazine name. Most people liked ' Ultimate film' so I decided to go with this name for the magazine.
Teaser trailer feedback
Keisha and I shown our teaser trailer to the media class who then filled out audience feedback forms which then told us if they knew they narrative, weaknesses and strengths of the teaser trailer. Keisha and I then tweaked and changed our trailer from this feedback.

Research and Planning: Trailer up to now
This is our nearly completed teaser trailer which just needs touch ups to the score and editing such as 'record' on the hand held camera parts.

Research and Planning: Magazine cover draft
After having a discussion with my media teacher I felt I need to change the colour of my masthead to red to stand out and a banner on the bottom to make it look less bare.

Research and Planning: audience feedback
After getting this feedback we will start to think about music and add more editing transitions. We will also get more shots of the scarecrow to show he is the killer.

Research and Planning: Problems with photographs
I took pictures last night for my film poster as the characters were dressed up, but because it was dark we had to put the flash on, as we put the flash on the pictures lighting wasn't very good. Therefore I am going to re take the pictures in the lights on Wednesday.
